Soulless: The Graphic Novel

Indentity

Picture
Everyone has two voices in their head: the villain and the white knight. Sure, sometimes we do bad things, but our noble conscious usually prevails. And, of course, there are the people of almost pure evil, the greedy, self-absorbed narcissists who will fight anyone and everyone to get their way. All people have both voices... until now.

Henry Collins, a young man living in New York City, is one of the darker people of this world. No, he doesn't go out of his way to make the people around him miserable; it's just his personality. His brother-in-law is trying to push him away from his sister and newborn niece, the love interest/boss just fired him and his best friend isn't returning his calls. Also, he just got kidnapped.

For three weeks, no one knew where Henry was. Then, out of the blue, he wakes up in his apartment. Sure, his eyesight is only in black and white, he has no reflection in the mirror, and his skin is so numb that he can't feel paper cuts, but he feels better than ever. For the first time since the death of his father, Henry doesn't have this overbearing burden of depression and misanthropy. Then, his emotions start to dissipate.

Slowly but surely, Henry's happiness is leaving him. Things that would surprise and delight him even during depression is barely making a mark on his radar. Now, he'll have to find out what exactly happened to him. Is Henry a vampire? A zombie? some other sort of supernatural monster? No, he's just soulless.
